Peanut Butter on Toast is yesterday`s news…have it on a Tortilla!
I`m a big fan of peanut butter and tortillas, so for those of you who love it too, you`ll definitely enjoy this super simple snack. Now you may have heard that you shouldn`t eat too much peanut butter because it is high in fat and calories, but as long as you’re not eating it straight from the jar, don’t worry! A small amount can go a long way. The dollop of peanut butter in the picture is 1 tbsp. Instead of having it on toast however, i`ve taken a whole wheat tortilla and cut it into quarters. What you see here is 1/2 a large tortilla. The great thing about using tortillas instead of regular bread, is it is has about the same amount of protein and fibre you get from 2 slices of bread but only has the calories of about 1 slice. So basically, you can have 2 pieces of the tortilla for 1 slice of bread. So it feels way more satisfying, and it’s something different!
A good target for snacks-usually I suggest aiming for about 100-200 calories for snacks between meals
PB on 2 pieces of tortilla – 185 calories (compared to PB on 2 pieces of toast – 300 calories)
